WEEK 3 LIFTING & BODY MECHANICS
This week, we will read about the benefits of mobility for the resident and practice how to roll the patient from the supine to lateral positions in bed. Review your steps with your classmates and practice at home with your family members. Manuel will demonstrate moving techniques with students, but you need to find time to practice outside of class time. Be sure to practice the steps and speak to your resident as you move him/her.
Think: Why is good body mechanics important? What do you do if your resident is unsteady on his feet?
